Ervin P. Christensen (1903–1964), also recorded as Erwin P. Christensen, was a Texas-linked Ritchie Boy (Class 8) who trained for CIC work and served in Greenland and Iceland.

Biography edit

Ervin P. Christensen (also spelled Erwin in contemporary county records) was born in 1903. A Bosque County, Texas, wartime summary identifies him as the son of Mrs. M. J. Michelson of Cranfills Gap and notes that he attended the University of Nebraska.

He entered the Army in 1942, trained at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and at Camp Ritchie, Maryland (Class 8), and attended CIC schools in Dallas and Chicago. Christensen served in Greenland and Iceland, received ETO and Good Conduct ribbons, and was discharged in 1946 as a sergeant. He died in 1964.
