Patricia Crane (1923–2004), later known as Patricia Liell, was a Women’s Army Corps Technician Fifth Grade associated with Camp Ritchie, Maryland; her wartime service and family history are featured in The Stories/The Patricia Crane Story.

Biography

Patricia Crane served as a Women’s Army Corps Technician Fifth Grade at Camp Ritchie during World War II. She later used the married name Liell. Crane was featured in the Holocaust Memorial Center’s “Secret Heroes” exhibition (July 2011).

Public reporting in 2017 described how her daughter Becky Hostetter used consumer DNA testing to find a half-sister given up for adoption in 1946 (born 30 May 1946 at a military hospital in New Hempstead, New York), while Crane was serving in the WAC.
