Ernest N. Strauss (1923–1970) was a United States Army Private who trained at Camp Ritchie, Maryland, in Class 27. Ernest enlisted at New York City, New York.

Biography[edit | edit source]

In 1948, Strauss graduated as Chemical Engineer (Washington U. Completed two years of college. Worked as laboratory technician. Worked in family scrap metal business. Since he arrived in Europe after the war ended, he could have served with a CIC detachment but I don’t have any information about that. He served as interpreter/translator at Dachau trials.

  • Note: Pvt Ernest N. Strauss was not a member of any Ritchie-based teams according to my records (I checked for his name in the IPW, OB, PI and MII teams). Since he arrived in Europe after the war ended, he could have served with a CIC detachment but I don’t have any information about that.
