Biography edit
Landon Grove, Curator of the Ritchie Museum recently spoke with the son of Ritchie Boy Louis Xanthopoulos. The son told Landon that his Dad was born in Wilkes Barre, Pa, and spoke German, Italian, Greek, English, French, Arabic and some Spanish! According to the son, his Dad rarely talked about the war.
He shared or a friend shared he was a Sergeant in the 82nd or 101st airborne and was trained by British intelligence and served in the OSS. His Dad did share that he and others did advance work for D Day and he had a run in with German soldiers a day or two prior to D Day and he was MIA for a brief period.
