He went to school in Latvia and studied mechanical engineering at the University of Latvia. After serving in the Latvian Army, he emigrated to the United States. He enlisted in the US Army in 1943 and did his basic training at Camp Claiborne, LA. He trained in the 16th Class (the same as my Father) and graduated as a German Interrogator.
