Frederick C. Patheiger (1919–1989) was a Ritchie Boy who trained at Camp Ritchie, Maryland in Class 8 and served with IPW Team 1, attached to the 101st Airborne Division (VIII Corps) on 11 February 1944.

Biography

Frederick was a German-born Catholic Ritchie Boy who trained at Camp Ritchie in Class 8. He served on IPW Team 1. On 11 February 1944, IPW Team 1 was attached to the 101st Airborne Division (VIII Corps). Teammates included Joseph C. Pangerl Jr., Alphonse Francis Gion, Hermann Coquelin, Emil H. Koslan, and George Goldberg. On 20 July 1943, he was naturalized as a United States citizen in District Court in Washington, D.C., in a ceremony for Camp Ritchie soldiers reported the next day in The Washington Post.
