Travis Allen Gerrells (4 September 1916–16 April 1983) was a Texas-born U.S. Army officer who trained at Camp Ritchie in Class 6 and retired as a lieutenant colonel.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Travis Allen Gerrells was born on 4 September 1916 in Texas. He entered the U.S. Army on 25 November 1940 and trained at Camp Ritchie, Maryland, in Class 6. A 1945 family photograph places him at Camp Ritchie with his wife Bonnie and their child.
Gerrells remained in the Army through the Korean War period, leaving service on 30 November 1960 as a lieutenant colonel. He died on 16 April 1983 and was buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas (Section 2, Site 324).
