Everett C. Lemoine (17 May 1917 – 3 June 2009) was a Massachusetts-born Ritchie Boy (Class 16) who trained in languages and military intelligence and served in New Guinea, the Philippines, and Japan.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Everett C. Lemoine was born on 17 May 1917 in Leominster, Massachusetts, the son of Wilfred and Rose Lemoine, and later lived many years in Nashua, New Hampshire. Drafted on 14 November 1942, he trained in languages at New York University and in military intelligence at Camp Ritchie (Class 16), where he also helped instruct other intelligence officers.
His specialization took him to New Guinea, the Philippines, and Japan. Decorations recorded for his service include the Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon.
After the war Lemoine worked for many years as a plant manager in the plastics industry and later for Digital, Compaq, and Hewlett-Packard, remaining at work into his nineties. He died on 3 June 2009 in Nashua.
