Hans W. Rosenhaupt (1911–1985) was a United States Army Second Lieutenant who trained at Camp Ritchie, Maryland, in Class 9.
Biography[edit | edit source]
He taught German and French at Oak Park Junior College Knox College and Colorado College before joining the US Army in 1942. He received his doctorate from the University of Bern in Switzerland, and in 1979 the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt awarded him the doctorate he should have received in 1933 from that university. AFTER THE WAR, he resumed teaching at Colorado College before becoming associate director of admissions at Columbia University, a post he held for 10 years.
He attended University of Berne (PhD). He worked as Asst Prof of German (Colorado College).
On 27 June 1941, Rosenhaupt became a naturalized citizen. He “How to Wage Peace” published by John Day, 1949. He later wrote a novel, “The True Deceivers’ (1954) about these experiences.
He attended Director of the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. He served as an officer in military intelligence, interrogating German prisoners in England, France and Germany. He published a novel based on his war experiences, “The True.
He at that time, his dissertation had been accepted and his oral examination scheduled when Adolf Hitler’s rise to power postponed the examination. He published by: Vittorio Klostermann GmbH.
He was national director and them president of the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation until his retirement in 1981. He attended PRINCETON—Hans Rosenhaupt, 74, director of the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship foundation for 23 years, died Friday after a lengthy illness.
