Arslan H. Seraydarian (born 16 February 1918) was a U.S. Army soldier and Ritchie Boy who served in Europe in World War II, including the Battle of the Bulge.

Biography edit

Arslan H. Seraydarian was born on 16 February 1918 in Yozgat, Turkey. He and some of his family escaped the Armenian Genocide; many other relatives were killed. He arrived in the United States in 1923 and left school after the eighth grade to help support his family during the Great Depression.

During World War II he served in the U.S. Army in the European theater, including the Battle of the Bulge. Contemporary accounts credit him with three Bronze Stars and the French Legion of Honor for service connected with the liberation of France.

After the war he finished high school, attended college, and earned a master’s degree. He worked as an aerospace engineer and teacher. In February 2018 his family and friends marked his 100th birthday in the Philadelphia area (Broomall / Walnut Hill College).
